A protractor with an angle that measures 45 degrees
When two non-parallel lines meet at a common point (called a vertex), they form an angle. We measure angles using a protractor. We use the protractor by lining up one of the lines of the angle along the 0° mark on either side of the protractor. Then we look to where the other line falls, and count up from 0°. This tells us the measure of the angle.
