Jan is the executive director of the Center for Independent Living, an organization that provides a broad range of services to people with disabilities.

There was never one particular moment when I really knew that this was the type of work I wanted to do, or that this was my calling. I’ve always been a good advocate for myself all through school, in terms of getting access. And so I decided that perhaps it would be great to be part of a really wonderful advocacy organization that’s very strong and works with people to get what they need.
