Dana, a pharmacist

Dana is a community pharmacy resident who provides pharmacy care services to the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. She meets with patients individually to discuss their medication.

As an intern with deaf dentists during college, I saw how much deaf patients really benefited from having care providers who knew sign language. I also saw huge gap in health care—a shortage of providers for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. I wanted to help fill that gap and I thought pharmacy was a great place to be.
